will the nitro be hotter(more gain) or just voiced differently?? if it is just a voicing difference then I'll stick with my pro mod, but if it adds some gain and voicing differences then I'll be on the build list as soon as i can! i just don't want to get all jacked up over this and have it be that it is a less midrange/high end version of a pro mod! when will a official update from Scott be on here?
this is just one opinion but i think he should make it a one channel amp that does one thing VERY well as opposed to a two channel amp, have no gears and put more control on the gain knob and OD#1-OD#2 feature. if you need a clean channel and gears then you can get a PM or QR and if you want to have one really brutal sound and that is it, go with the nitro!

Brian has a good point I don't see the point in three gears for a modern metal voiced amp... Clean is used sometimes so I think it should be kept

if the nitro was voiced like the engl power ball with the depth control on.. all encompassing ball breaking amp! but with the sweet high end and dynamics of the splawn design.. that'd rock my socks. and i'd buy it as an alternative/backup to my comp..

I'm looking forward to seeing any announcements by Splawn about the Nitro. The dealers don't seem to know much other than price and a name. I remember DerebB mentioning awhile back about a new headshell with barbed wire(?) and that it's voiced after early Fear Factory tones. Haven't heard anything new since. Maybe Splawn will have a new section on their website for the Nitro soon

Hey Josh, You said the midi upgrade will be released with a new amp called the Eliminator. Do you have any idea when that amp might be released? This Summer, Fall, next year?
I have been holding off on buying a quick rod to see if he builds a midi version for channel switching for 4 months now, since my current setup (Engl Special Edition) is all midi controlled it would be easier for me to swap out the Engl for the Splawn and keep the Engl for back up without having completely different rigs (switching and cabling, etc.).
Let me know if you have any info.
Thanks again! Edward

Hey Josh,
Do you knoww the tubes confirguration on the nitro? Maybe KT88's ? 5 ECC83s.? Voicing switch instead of gears. 3 ch. clean & two dirty voicing, with a matching 4X15 cab? Just kidding about the 4x15 cab. Not that there anything wrong with that.

I talked to Josh at Splawn and said the Nitro will have the same amount of gain as the QR/PM but a more modern voicing. Reason why i called was to order a Tuki cover

More low mids eh? Just when I thought I had found plenty of low mids with my pro mod! ex: www.youtube.com/watch?v=Nj2TbCP0QxII'd call that a somewhat modern sound with thick low mids but hey, I am certainly intrigued! I could use another Splawn, sure.....why not? Maybe I could run the Pro Mod and the Nitro in stereo hmmmm......

I wish Scott would offer that 50-watt Competition with a modern voicing option. Could this be in the future?
