I drove to Scott's shop today to pick up my Competition and 2x12 cab!.All I can say is this amp is amazing!. Workmanship is Top Notch! Cab is Salt and Pepper basketweave looks great! Rolling the volume back in gear 1 cleans up good. All 3 gears sound great from classic to VH, Lynch, Sykes etc. I wish I would have had this amp years ago. Scott also added a switch in the back for reducing wattage for even better bedroom level sounds. Works like a half power switch on the QR but reduces the 50 watts down to about 25-30 watts. It's a Triode/ Pentode switch. Very cool for pushing the tubes at low levels. Scott is a super nice person. Easy to deal with and takes time to answer any questions. He's the best in this business. I'm sooo happy with this amp.

man, he's gotta get some help on updating the site!!! I don't even think the updated info on the new clean channel QR and pms are up there =(

I 100% agree Vom. It is unheard of , from amp builders, store owners or anyone with a vast knowledge of amp/guitars. Most people I know that if they were able to build such an amazing amp and were that knowledgeable would be so hard to deal with. Scott is so down to earth.

That lower wattage will make great for a combo style amp. All some would have to do would be get that head and a 2x12 with 30watt speaker. That would be perfect for practice levels or even a small gig situation!

And yeah, Scott is the best person in the business to deal with. And like anyone that runs a business.....I am sure he has to deal with a lot!

Hey Vom,
Can you tell me if there any difference tone / distortion wise between the Competition & the
Quick rod? Since it's a Single channel do you notice if the overdrive is better?
Also what was your waiting time. I order a Pro stock early Dec.

Thanks, Alice 69 hey alice, H is the one that got the new comp...i have an old first generation QR. that being said there shouldn't be any difference tonewise between a QR and a comp outside of a comp not having a clean channel. |

Alice. never really played a HG 100...but i don't think it comes w/ as much as a QR does.. does the HG100 have a clean channel?...i don't think so there's no solo boost/ doesn't have 2 overdrives/etc./no gears i think you get more w/ the QR, plus, i haven't really heard and clips of the Rocca that floored me.... |
