Pfffft, what kind of forum administrator are you??? have you guys ever heard of these mods?...by that name?...i mean, yeah he mods marshalls but he basically makes marshalls into QRs or PMs right?...i can't find any mention of these mod names on his site... |

I think he still mods marshalls, but doesn't do the third gear mod to older QR's amd PM's? maybe it's all across the board...but I know he's not doin' the third gear on splawn amps these days...too damn busy methinks |

I too am a new member. have owned a QR for almost a year. mine was one of the first amps with the clean channel. now I see he has added some type of mode switch. has anybody out there played a QR with and without this switch.I emailed Scott to see if this is worth while upgrade to mine or can I get all the same sounds by adjusting the tones and gain. As it is I cannot get a bad sound out of the thing but am always looking for something better.I play clean blues through it with homemade stratocasters with home made pickups and preamps in the guitar.Also play 80s hairband music and this amp rocks out for this stuff.

hi jeff, welcome...there's some guys here that have that "new fangled QR" ;D...i have an older style model so i can't really talk about the gear switch but folks that have it seem to love it...

I think Dirrty Craig will be the only guy around here ( that I know) that has a older QR and a new QR 3rd gear coming. I know he will give us a comparison when he gets the new one.

nuwbie here too i ordered my qr 4 weeks ago scott said after he finishes frank from godsmack qr im next that was a week ago it should be any day now cant wait i hope its as killer as everone says

Hello Splawnies, I've been lurking this board for almost a month now.. Kinda ran across it by accident, But after I heard all those great clips on the Splawn site, I decided to think about getting a Splawn.. Wasn't long before I found one. Anyway, I've been playing off and on for over 20 years.. Had to sell my Les Paul and Trem-o-verb a little over a year ago due to divorce. But managed to keep my Strat. I mainly play classic rock & blues. But I've always wanted to be a shredder.. never practiced enough. I haven't got a cab for my Splawn yet but I'll get one soon$ You guys are great! Thanks  |

Yep, That's the actual amp I purchased.. When I took the pic, it was actually sittin on my dresser which took away from the beauty of the amp! So, I touched it up a little in Photoshop.
I noticed a 4X12 cab on ebay last night and I was very tempted to "buy it now"... But I really want a 2X12.. Really no rush yet. I have a little fender amp that I've been using to get back in shape with, after a 2 year hiatus... Divorced messed me up!

Looks really good. Like shreder said, sorry about your divorce. Both of my brothers have gone through divorces and I know it takes a toll on you. But I think you're on a sure-fire path to recovery with the Splawn. I still haven't baught mine yet, but word is...It'll put a grin on your face that won't go away for days. Anyway, keep us posted and let us know when you start cookin' on that badd mutha'. ;D |
