so i am heading to atlanta for 19 days in march to record 5 or 6 new songs that will be added to our current US ep to form an LP for Japanese release. Just got a list of the producer's gear: budda, soldano, matchless, some 1949 bogen tube head, a sugarfuzz amp (made by some guy in collective soul or something), and 3 les paul customs. Looking forward to using all of this stuff - as well as my Quick Rod and Marshall 2210, of course.
I am picturing a room of 10 amps side by side when I record guitars......

Last time I went into a pro studio all they had was Marshalls and Soldanos and I was in gear heaven. I think that was about 2000 or so,, that was the turning point for me when I decided the Marshall type EL34 based amps were right for me.
It was a nightmare though,, the idiot who produced all the Orlando pop crap like Rob Thomas Matchbox20 was the guy at the helm and he was the most annoying producer I've ever worked with. I couln't get out of that band fast enough,, they had a record label showcase with Sony, I stayed for that and split. Don't let those guys bully you too much, stick to your guns when your in there.

I've got a budda superdrive 18. I use it for small rooms that we sometimes find ourselves in. It's a great sounding amp. Like I said above it's no splawn but sometimes you have to play the room you're in.

Don't let those guys bully you too much, stick to your guns when your in there. that actually happened to a friend of mine's band. they were a punk/rock band that went in with some guy who had produced all of thiss classic rock stuff and it ended up sounding REALLY lame - and cost them $10000. Fortunately, my producer experience has been great so far. And the guys we are working with in Atlanta have recorded a lot of bands with a similar sound to mine. Only thing I'm really worried about is having to record all of the leads for this one. I've always been more of a barre chord and swagger guy....
