you bought a guitar from tracii guns???
I always wonder why these rock stars sell their crap on ebay or the net...all that money must've gone up his nose at some point =D
what happened with the sale?
so i bought a jackson randy rhoads V from tracii guns off of ebay...for like $1200...still have it, i'll take some pics of it...
great looking guitar...he was selling alot of stuff..had like an ebay store kinda deal...pictured with all his stuff, etc. anyway...
so i buy this V from tracii...he tells me that he doesn't have a guitar case for it but he'll send it in a keyboard case but fully protected, i'm like, whatever...no big deal...
around that time i was also ordering some large poster frames from another place online...
tracii sends me the tracking number so i'm tracking it...it's supposed to get here in a day or 2...i have all my stuff sent to a mailboxes etc store that my friend runs...i go there about twice a week to pick stuff up during my lunch break...
well fedex is telling me that the guitar is supposed to get there tomorrow...but i end up going to my buddy's store anyway just to talk and hang for a bit...when i show up he tells me that there's a package for me...i figure it's the poster frames because the V isn't supposed to arrive until tomorrow...
he brings out this package and goes, "jim, i've been in the parcel business for years you know that...i've never seen a package so porly packed than this..." it was a package with a TV box wrapped around it...kinda like how you'd wrap a christmas present, but with a TV box instead of wrapping...no packing filler to absorb jolts or anything...i'm like. "eh, no big deal it's these poster frames i ordered...$25..."
i throw it in the back of the car and leave...
when i get home i don't even open it right away...
eventually, i'm like, let me see these frames, i rip off the tv box and see that there's a keyboard case underneath...it now hits me that this is the V that's supposed to get here tomorrow...it's early...
i open up the case and what do i see?...the headstock is completely off the guitar...there's 2 pieces....the headstock....and the rest of the guitar...the headstock is COMPLETELY off the guitar...
i freak out...i email tracii and tell him the guitar is completely fooked and that his packing was horrible...he wants me to send him pics, so i do...he then tells me that i have to deal with UPS...i tell him that i don't have time to deal with this crap...he sent it, and he has to deal with it, i'll send him the guitar back...
this goes back and forth for a few days...in the meantime i show it to my buddy that's a great guitar tech (roadied for anthrax/pantera/zakk) etc... he says that he can fix it and not to worry... i calm down a little...he's like, "let me see the case it came in"...i show him the case...
he puts the guitar in the case and puts the headstock back on the guitar like a jigsaw puzzle...we now notice that there's no way the guitar would fit in there WHOLE...there was about 4 inches sticking out the end of the case...it now hits us that the guitar was broken by tracii so that he could fit it in the case...
i email tracii about this, of course he denies everything and i'm stuck with a busted guitar...my buddy ended up fixing it but i never got any money back from tracii...a-hole...he broke the guitar so that it would fit in the keyboard case, and then sent it to me...there was no way the guitar would've fit if it wasn't broken...
