I think they do dream theater better than dream theater...LOL....more tasteful composition, less generally wankery (but they can pull out the stops when they want to), more tasteful useage of keys and by FAR better vocals i think DT coulda been something like this anywho, comparing them to DT is kinda unfair...yeah, they're both 'prog' type bands..and DT isn't the only prog band out there...they happen to play in the same genre..or it seems like PM plays in the same genre now that DT USED to be in =D anywho, these guys friggin' kill.. Okay, So you’re not a big DT fan. TeeHee. Please forgive my ignorance, as I am not a big prog rock flag. I am, however, willing to learn. D i used to be really big into them..then they released falling into infinity and just got worse and worse =D I'm not a total prog rocker either...sometimes they just try to do too much just c ause they can..that doesn't mean ya should though, ya know? the PM stuff always grooves well and they don't sacrifice the song for leads or wankery

dude....you rule.. kayleigh is one of my FAVORITE songs ever.... Marillion was a great band. I love the album "Misplaced childhood" Total concept album. I always really liked that band. Here's another one for you Vom. Not sure if you've heard this version or not. It's different from the CD. Great song!! www.youtube.com/watch?v=HkmS6zCLj7w

Motrock mentioned King Cobra. I have a Racer X bootleg video where Racer X opened for them (or vice versa)
Some of you have probably heard of Michael Lee Firkins. His first album is a "must have." He's a Shrapnel Shredder, but his trademark thing is a simulated slide with his whammy bar. Great album and a Killer player who vanished into thin air.

I'm always impressed by Slash's Snakepit. They released one album after GNR broke up, sort of a side project for Slash.
Some great blues rock methinks!

Not into the Hayseed. Every time they come around they are all over the radio: promote, promote, promote. It gets annoying.

Anything by Doug Aldrich(currently with Whitesnake) His side project is called Burning Rain. Very cool, tasty player with a ripping Marshall tone. Great bluesy rock. Also has a few solo albums out as well.

Wow, I hate I didn't see this sooner. If this was any other forum, I would start off with the first Badlands album, in my opinion, the best rock album that most people never heard. I would also include the recent Lynch/Pilson album. Given the nature of this forum, I'll move onto some more you might not have checked out, but, definitely deserve to be....
-Buster Rouge -Animal Logic -Robbie Robertson * Showdown at Big Sky -Missing Persons -Tuck and Patty * Love Warriors -The Time * What Time is It? -Arcadia * So Red The Rose -Luka Bloom * Rescue Mission -Ani DiFranco * Not So Soft -Fishbone -Daniel Lanois * Acadie
