I put on Metal Mania the other day, thinking that I would actually see some metal and instead it was all hair bands.
Anyway I saw the most ridiculous video by WASP! It starts out with somebody cutting a chain link with a saw, then just goes to super-cheese mode. The guitarist had circular saw blades on his elbows and shoulders! I just couldn’t get over the oufits. It was like gay barbarians. The singer had like furry high lace boots with heels that he couldn’t even walk in. I was peeing myself with laughter but I felt embarrassed for them at the same time. Has anyone seen this?
I also noticed the bands all did the same banging fist move as well as the crazy face in the camera and them flick your hair as you look away trick! It kills me. These guys took them selves seriously and actually planned this stuff out to be recorded on video forever. Amazing!

HAHAH and we opened for WASP back in the 80's at cardi's in houston.. he wore that same thing.. haha funny.. no one would come within 5 feet of blackie lawless hahaha... yea I was watching Vh1 classis.. a lot of those videos where cheeseeeey... I laugh too... and to think I was there.. hahah..
we wore our blue jeans and harley shirts..

WASP was cheese metal at it's finest. They did have a few good tunes "I'm blind in Texas" is a good rocker. The guitar playing (Chris Holmes) is quite possibly the worst ever in my opinion. I remember their album cover was a animal print Cup (And it ain't no dixie cup) with a saw blade coming through it spitting blood and the name of the album was "F#$# like a beast" What a bunch of tools!

hahah wasp was halarious! talk about strange! agreed on the few good songs.. their image.. haha.. I think they where inspired by Kiss.. they should of left that alone!

Metal Mania rules! I love hearing it all on that show. Hair bands, glam bands, metal bands, classic metal bands, etc. Its all good on that show. The video's can be silly, but the music rocks!

"ack...haack..ugghh...ack..hhhuhhh..huhhhh..ackk" Sorry my gag reflex just took over. ;D It's good for a laugh or two but I personally can't take more than 3 or 4 videos w/o having to go wash my eyes with tobassco sauce. |

did you realize what channel you were actually on when you put metal mania on? VH 1 CLASSIC, don...lol....
they're all mostly 80's and early 90's vids...play alotta maiden, megadeth, krokus, saxon, loudness, dio, fastway, wasp, la guns, dokken, ratt..etc, etc..
have you actually tried to watch the headbanger's ball since they brought it back?!?!? there's NOTHING but extreme metal on there...freya, atreyu, soil, yukkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkk

my niece (6) and my nephew (3) watch metal mania every saturday morning at 11am w/ me...they literally drop everything and come over to me so we can watch it...i love that!
long live true metal...yeah i said it, that's "true" metal....
