What do y'all think is a good price for a used 2018, fully loaded QR? I know you have been looking around. Have you tried an allofcraigs type site. Fully loaded? I don't know. Maybe $1500 for mint? You actually probably know more than I do because I haven't been looking.  Regular older QR are now less than 1,000. That's probably what I'd sell mine for if I sold it. Not sure what's up with the upside down back panel  ? I'm partial to racing stripes  |

Yeah, I found a Fully Loaded 2018 on Craigs for $1500. That's a bit more than I want to spend. My thought is to give Splawn another shot and compare it to my Friedman JJ100. Only one stays. ...My ONLY issue with the Splawns are the volume, really...And the Friedmans have a more 3D quality, but other than that, I loved my Pro Stock.

What is your issue with volume?
I can see volume being an issue with older versions with no loop volume as they are loud as hell and not practical for home or bedroom use. The new version with volume loops can be played whisper quiet or loud as hell. You choose.

You can easily put a volume taper in the FX loop as well - which is what I do. Same thing basically. I run the amp at like 11 o'clock and the volume box in loop at say 3 or 4 oclock. Works great.

I personally LOVE volume; when I had my 2014 Pro Stock, the stages I played on, some big, did not like the same volume. I tried to use the Loop Volume--again, a 2014--and it worked well enough, but i felt it did neuter the amp a little bit. So while I love volume, and I love the thump and feel of a 100w Splawn, i had to always use the Loop volume and I felt it was missing something. However, I AM thinking to purchase a loaded 50w or loaded 100w to give Splawn another chance. It would have to beat my Friedman JJ100 for my personal tastes/preference, so I'm looking for one I can flip if need be. ' And maybe the Loop Volume has gotten better since I had my 2014, so again, willing to give Splawn another shot. I did love mine when I had it, but moved it to try other things. |

Hey JYD there is a 2018 fully loaded QR for sale on Facebook Splawn forum for only $1500. It is black and gold piping plexi style.

Yeah, I think that's the guy in Houston (i'm in Dallas). We chatted. ...I just decided to hold off for now bc I don't NEED another amp and am trying to buy a house next year. Home values in DFW have gone up 77% since 2013 with no end in sight, even if we have a recession. Too many people moving to Texas. Ugh.... I can't enjoy my amps other than my band's gigs bc I'm in an apartment and had the cops called 3 times already, so big amps/small apartment at volume is a no-go.
BUT, I still have another Splawn on my radar some day. Cheers for the heads up.
