Hey all, just wondering what everyone uses for compression. I have the option of getting an EHX soul preacher or an Xotic SP. It's for the clean channel of my KT88 Nitro, and I've heard good things about the Xotic!

I use the Rothwell Love Squeeze in front of the amp on the clean channel only.

Yeah that's where I want to put mine, ditto on the cleans only.

I feel that overdrive/distortion compress the signal enough, i dont want to squash it anymore.
I like it on the cleans because I really evens out the signal and helps to almost boost it. ( not sure if "boost" is the word I'm looking for but...)

Also I thought for some reason I already responded to this thread but I guess it was a different one. Any how, this is what I use. I was looking for the best, and Keeley pedals a really good, I own a few. Also I hear the wampler ego compressor is pretty good as well.

My friend has the Keeley four knob model, it's amazing...they are really hard to get here. I also read a lot of players like the Diamond comp.

Very good compressor. Actually if I was you, for the money the four knob is the way to go. Definitely check out eBay. You live in New Zealand right?

Yes I do, the problem is that to get anything sent here it costs a lot. And anything made in the US or UK costs even more! The Xotic pedals have a distributor here and I know the dude so I can get a good price on it. The other thing was I have almost run out of space on my board....and the SP is very small. I suppose I could just build a bigger board though!

Bigger board would be nice, but I'm not sure how big you board is now. That sucks about the expensive shipping cost. I'm guessing the used market in New Zealand is very limited...

Yup. But on the flipside it's real easy to get Crowther Audio & Red Witch stuff.

I have a red witch empress chorus which is killer
I had the same problem with space in my board too. I'm in the middle of building my own. It's a little bigger than I previously had but now the top flips open to store all the crap you don't want on top of the board. Of course, pics to follow once it is done...

OK decided on the Xotic, fits nicely into the pedalboard project I'm doing. To complete it I'm getting a univibe and the EHX Turnip Greens pedal.
