Hey guys! So I have my first QR on order and once it comes in I'd like to add a pedal switcher to my board. One that can handle switching amp channels as well. I've been looking at the musicimLAB stuff but the MKIV is a bit expensive. Also have been looking at the new switchers from BOSS. They look cool too. I've seen a few used older model MusiccomLAB switchers on eBay etc. I figure I would probably need to be able to switch between a clean(comp, chorus, delay) to the plexi setting, and to the JCM setting and then a dedicated solo button. That would be the basic setup. If I needed other particular effects I suppose I could setup another bank and make the changes there. What are you guys using for your setups? What are the pros and cons of your switchers? Thanks!!

My QR isn't here yet so I haven't actually used my switcher and board with the amp yet, however, this is what I'll be using. The switcher has 4 trigger outs on the far left side. It works great on my Marshall so I have no doubt it will do the same with the Splawn.

I just bought a used MusiconLab EFX MKiii
But, yeah I'm in the same boat. Still waiting on my QR too. I'm just getting all the pieces together in the meantime. I bought a few new pedals to replace some old ones which I'll still use with my Marshall.

Nice board! I needed to add a switcher because I can't tap dance pedals anymore due to MS. I miss, lose my balance, even fall over lol! I will probably be able remove 1 or 2 OD pedals from my board with the QR. Make room for a Strymon or 2.

As soon as I get all my pieces together I'm gonna finish rebuilding by board. A buddy is going to help me get it all set up. We are custom making all of the wiring, running everything through a junction box etc. no more mess of cables. It all going to be organized with a Pedal Python...I, of course will post pics!!

Wow nice! I love tricking out the old pedal board! It would be cool if Splawn came out with a boost pedal! I'd buy it!

Yeah, I'd buy the Splawn pedal! He could have a whole series: The Bottle (clean boost), Forced Induction (basic OD), Twin Turbo (OD + Boost), Triple Shot (Preamp/Distortion: Gears 1-3).
BTW, I think the Friedman BE pedal sounds sweet, and I'm getting one of those when they become available.

Hold on they have a Friedman pedal, I'll check that out. I think you got something going with the Splawn pedals!

Hey Splawndude, do you use the bad monkey i see on your board as a clean boost? If so, what is your gain knob on the splawn set at when you do? How do you like it? Yeah. Clean boost. When I was researching a long time ago several people suggested the Bad Monkey over the Tubescreamer because the Bad Monkey is a bit cleaner and has the added tone control. Usually, my amp's gain is between 12 and 2pm. Gear 2 OD 2 With the gain at around 2pm and the boost I get to my happy place which is more of metalcore/sludge type tone. Ah ha. There is a bad monkey for sale here locally. I will try and get it. It's not the first time I heard good things about this pedal! The guy is asking $50. I have my gain at 5 o'clock and its a little loose at bottom end i find but not by much. I am hoping to set it around 12 or so and add a little boost. I am usually in gear 2 od2.
Thanks for the info and quick reply.

yeah - a clean boost will tighten things up nicely.
Any tubescreamer variant should work fine.
The Bad Monkey used to be $50 new. Don't over pay.
