Hello all... I own a Splawn Quick Rod and it seems here lately it's started sounding weak. Normally I could crank to gain up to about 3:00 on Gear 3 and get your typical gain hiss. Now it just doesn't have the balls it should. Ordered Power amp tubes and Preamp tubes from Josh at Splawn had amp biased about six months ago. Any suggestions??

Not that unusual to have tubes go bad after six months, depending on how good they are and how much/loud you play.
Definitely sounds tubey.

Try rebiasing. I had a major drift in 6 months once. 28ma to 21ma. ikes.

They are Sino tubes... It's the same ones Scott is using in his heads now... And I failed to mention it's in all gears...

+1 check the bias. and try switching pre-amp tubes around alternating the clean channel with the od channel pre's. Also try using 2 power tubes in the middle sockets. Call me if you need more help.

I assume from the name and the location that this is the Josh that works with Scott at the Splawn shop ? If so shouldn't he get senior member status automatically ?I mean next to Scott this is as close as you get to splawn . |

Yes it is me. Josh From Splawns. Yes, maybe i should tell vom to make me an admin or youth member. I don't want to be known as a senior member because I'm only 23 years old.
