Are you KRANKing that 100 watt in a klub or do you run it half-power in those applications?

I run full power all the time. Depends on where we play, how big the room is and PA/Monitor setup as to how loud I am, but its always damn loud.. LOL. For example this weekend we played a small place where the durms and vocals were mic'ed and the guitars were not. All stage volume, so I ran full power with the master on 11 o'clock and my lead boost was dimed. Thats my kinda gig. old skool.

my band gave up putting me through the monitors...don't need it..lol

Heck yeah dude, made my Corona bottles fall on the floor twice,, he hee. Yeah the newer one definitely doesn't have the power of my old one, but Scott said my old one has the last 2 of whatever transformers he had laying around so its like 168 watts or something he said. The old one is WAY louder than the new one, but I like the new ones tone a bit better... but they both RAWWWWWK. I'm keeping them both. I own the 2 best sounding heads I've ever heard.. other than everyone elses here.. LMAO.

I'm not sure,, Scott told me once about my old transformers and I forgot what he said exactly,, but I know he only used them in my amp and it was the only one made with those in it, its also the first snakeskin QR he ever made.. . It doesn't sound better, but its definitely louder... I like 1st gear better on the new one and use it pretty much for everything now. It just sounds SOOO good.

you third gear traitor!!!!
lol..j/k =)
I like first gear with gain dimed on OD2....
that being said, I use third gear cause it's got the balls of gear 2 with the bite of gear 1, if that makes sense

Oh i love the 3rd gear too, its like 2 huge furry nuts dragging behind me on stage,, but 1st gear is so dang crispy I love it. spanky, sparkly, jinga-jangly...cruncha-cruncha burnin' love yummy. I love it.

two huge furry nuts...interesting mental image...lol...
that's what I like about first gear too..the clarity and it does chug nicely...just doesn't suit me quite well enough for lead stuff

Its definitely a little tougher to pull off the techy stuff, but if you hammer down on the right hand you get a nice Vinnie Moore/DiMeola kinda sound if the chops are up. Of course 6 beers, 3rd set I'm all over 2nd and 3rd gear,, LOL.
