Umm....no comment..... can't think of any way to say anything without sounding offensive...so....I'll keep my mouth shut!....hehe ahhh go for it! everyone else does!! Well...ok...but...anyways...anytime Carvin is mentioned in any topic it leads me to believe that the person stating that type of brand name really has no experience or knowledge of what a "good" amp is or does..Like I said and I mean no disrespect to the original poster or to carvin but...it is what it is... Ediited to note that: Does'nt matter what your using..if it works for ya great! if it does'nt look elsewhere??

Jeepers....I'd expect the condescending talk at Plexi Palace, not here.
"....but the guy that took the pictures for the manual missed the gain control. what a goober...." Thanks, hacksaw. The picture in your reply #13 is what I was hoping to see : a pre & post config on the distortion channel. That is *not* what's in the pdf file, as you pointed out.
To jimbax: Thanks for the garbage in reply #9. It really helped a lot.

The goober... updated the manual.. :-) sent to scott. (my apologies scott & crew).
Thank you for mentioning the controls and the manual, it made me look !! we (forums guy like me, NOT splawn ) are still in process of writing the manual, sorry it portrayed incorrect information and I hope this make you feel better about buying a splawn. :-) also when your in adobe acrobat, you can zoom in about x200-x300 on the front and rear panel pictures and it should give you the total layout in fairly decent detail
we are pretty open here on this forum.. as you can tell a lot of weird things go on. but we have all been down the amp road, as I owned carvin amps, I still have carvin PA gear and DCM2000 pa amps. so, please dont take it personal.. it could have been directed at me :-) LOL .... as I knew what you where talking about with the carvin.

hacksaw: Nice bike in your avatar & a gorgeous lady, too. The Quickrod *will* be my next amp; no question there. Scott emailed me & gave me the info I was after. When I mentioned the Legacy, I was referring to the pre/post control layout, not the sound or build quality. What I don't like is a "I've been around the block & you haven't" attitude by someone who doesn't know me. No one here knows me & my skill level or experience. Besides, if I like the Legacy head, so what? I like the sounds I hear from the Quickrod better. I've been down the amp road, too, more times than I or my wife want to remember. I'm well over 40, with 30+ years of playing the gtr. I've owned Carvin, Peavey, Fender (dig the Prosonic), Orange & Marshall. The SLASH reissue & the JCM800 2555 (50watt) Custom Tube rigs were my favorite sounds. The ORANGE was my favorite just because I loved the unique vibe it brought. And my favorite band at the time, WISHBONE ASH, used them so they had to be the great. AS far as skill level & whether or not I even deserve to be playing a SPLAWN as some have mentioned, I play contemporary praise & worship these days. I do studio work with some friends locally & help with writing & arranging, too. I work with several different churches doing projects with them as needed, not being tied to any one church with a gig committment. What type stuff do I play? Check out HILLSONG's "HOPE" & "BLESSED" dvds & you'll get a very good representation. I play regularly at the largest church in town in front of 2,500 people per service for 3 services. We had over 8,000 at the Christmas program this year at this church. They *hired* me; they payed me. My point? I'm not one who just started playing when I heard KORN. I grew up on the BEATLES, DC5, WISHBONE ASH, ZEP & more than I can mention. But I also love shred & jazz. The latest SPYRO GYRA is awesome. I can't stand gear snobs. I'm a firm believer that even you & I can be fooled by our ears. I also believe the old saying: people hear with their eyes. I'm an old geezer blessed by a mighty God & honored to use my talents mainly for Him these days. And I like what I see happening with Scott Splawn & company.

That 'someone' would be me...I don't mind poking around with a few sharp objects to get to the 'point' of the matter (no pun...)...and, if you read my post, I asked a few 'pertinent' questions that are important...if you have a thin skin, no experience and speak highly of cheap amps...well, that pretty much defines you as a certain kind of guitar player....most guys here are amp snobs, we have been on the 'boutique amp' merry go round...just wanted to know for sure where you stood...now I know...I played the LA Church circuit for a few years (EV Free Fullerton, Mariners, Riverside etc...)..and am currently leading worship at a smallish church in Northern Wisconsin with an acoustic and a group of singers... sometimes I record back tracks to accompany...I'm doing 4 Hillsong tunes this week..'For All You've Done'...'Hear Our Praises'...and 'Wonderful God' and 'With All I Am'...as well as a few others. BTW: if your no longer 5...does this mean your 6?? hehehe

It really helped a lot. hey...no problem....I am here for YOU!, I'd die for you...if all the power rangers were all lined up against me.. I'd still run a post for YOU...(that's sarcasm not condescending...) and only Dennis the Menace gets to use the word: 'Jeepers'...write it down somewhere, it is a Splawn fan forum rule...
