I sold my basket weave Marshall about a year ago so I can't help with any comparisons...I really like the Splawn 4 X 12 with Eminence speakers in X pattern (Governor and Man O' War). I did a comparison of Celestion Vintage 30 and Eminence Governor in my EarCandy BuzzBomb cab and the Eminence Governor has a much better tone to my ears, the Celestion sounded shrill on top and less bottom end compared to Governor...some may disagree with me though...

I would be interested in seeing inside a splawn cab, and the thickness of the wood used etc.. the celestions do get a bit shrill with the QR to me at times. but I like the way the marshall cabs breath in midrange. old school

i gotta tell ya, i'm loving that maxon od-9...through the clean channel you can get a great SRV type tone...through the OD channel it adds a little more oomph for a lynch type tone...
i haven't been this happy with a pedal in a long time

If you're happy....don't change...if you get a chance to demo side by side with an OCD take it...I still say the 4558 chip boxes sound good/great on a clean amp but squish your tone when you are using it to boost an already gained sound...I have tons of recorded songs that show the difference...BTW Stevie wouldn't use a QR too much gain and of a different structure than Fender amps..4558 boxes (808, TS9, Sparkle Drive, OD9 etc...) do set well in a mix but I like a BIGGER sound personally.
