that's a pretty sweet lookin' strat type of guitar, VOM..do they make any other body types though? just curious right now they're only offering strats at that exact spec...which is why they're able to sell them for cheaper...you can only really change the color...

Yeah....my Carve-top Wolfie is a great guitar but the neck is too thick. I like the side/side dimensions but not the thickness. I have played with the idea of shaving the neck...then it would be perfect. Anyone have any experience with shaving the neck on a Wolgang ? If I do it myself I'm afraid I'll end up touching the truss rod LOL

First post (my QR arrives on Monday)
Anyway, if you can find one, the American Tele HH guitars are sweet. Real thick sound - kinda like a LP but more "open." Not twangy at all. I got one used for $650.
Might try a Gibson Firebird as well. Great "in between" sound and not that many guys play them.
GMP Pawnshops are cool too......

I think I should look into the Tele's a bit more. Are the ones you are talking about a bit more modern looking, ie different body contours? A friend that I used to jam with had a dark blue one with black hardware. I played it a few times and it was nice.

The two teles (Tele HH, Tele Plus) I have are the regular tele body style. The ones like your friend has are the Korean versions, I think. They sound pretty good though...
The Tele HH has no pickguard and comes in metallic colors (mine is silver). They come with Fender Enforcer pickups (or some lame name like that) which actually sound pretty good. I'm thinking about putting in a SD Invader, though. Those things sound HUGE.
The Tele Plus is cool as well. It has 3 Lace Sensor pickups - one in the neck and 2 in the bridge that you can either run as a humbucker or split to get a wide range of sounds. They are a little harder to find though as they were discontinued in the 90's.
Overall, I think Teles are great "no nonsense" guitars. I personally don't care to pay so much extra for the AAAAA Flame Maple Top 5 carat Diamond Inlay kind of stuff. I put my guitars through alot with touring and jumping around like a tard on stage. Just need something that sounds good, will stay in tune, and not fall apart - which is probably why I got the Splawn.....

Sweet, I'm with you where I like a simple classic look and can't justify the extra $$ for all the trimmings. You should see how beat up my Les Paul is! I will definitely check out the HH Tele. Which model Splawn did you get?

I got the Quick Rod. Kept the asthetics simple. Black w/silver chasis and pipng, chicken head knobs. I'm a big fan of the EL34 chunk.....
If I like it (which I'm sure I will) I think I will order a Competition with the KT88s for the more modern sound.
I feel like a kid on Christmas eve waiting for this thing.....

As far as I can tell the MM and Peavey Wolfgang necks are roughly the same radius and size ?
