I do agree there, I don't agree with Rowdness beind derogatory...in fun, sure....but, if someone is SERIOUSLY offended by it, I will stop using it...until then, "Rowdness" it is!
Those 3 guitar players are what I was talking about in my 'twentysomething' rant....I bet these 'guys' haven't been playing guitar for probably 3-5 years maybe less...I bet ALL they practice is 'look at me' cheese chops like in the video...I (ah, me personally) don't appreciate that kind of playing...it is souless to me. Kinda like a guy who has one of those Honda Civic cars with all the toys on it. lowered, custom paint, stinger etc...totally tricked out...to me a car is a vehicle PERIOD and that guy has waisted a ton of money on a piece of transportation...glorifying the 'VEHICLE' instead of honoring 'WHERE' it takes you...I think the emphasis is totally out of focus in both instances...

The Trash-Heap has spoken...nyeahhhhhh ~that's from fraggle rock if that wasn't your thing back in the 80's..heheh~ I agree, it's soulless..then again, it's three guys in a wankathon....I wouldn't expect it to be beethovens fifth....I appreciate their technical ability (at least the guy on the fender..his made the most musical sense and had some tastefullness..relatively speaking of course  the others just seemed to be playing as fast as they could just to keep up...especially the one in the middle... he's an example of some kid that starts with sweep picking from lessons day one....I have way too many alternate picking years for sweeps to be a solid staple in my picking...Red strat guy is very much like Michael Angelo's right hand, cool but a real curse when you want to play anything but mindless shred  |
