I've had 7 days with my Splawn and love it. As requested in my first thread, here's a short demo... youtu.be/loDWVWJSiFk

Very cool, sounds like a Strat, true? Edit: Duh of course it's a Strat, you're "zionstrat"!!!
As I said on the vid's comment I like how you showcased the lower gain sounds, so many demos have it cranked! That's great (I keep it at about 2:00) but it's good to have some variety in the demo vids.
Saw you got the 4 button switch too... good call. I didn't think it would be that useful since it will just switch between gear 2 and what you have the front panel gear set to, but I end up using the Mode button a ton, especially for solos, kick it into gear 3 and hit the solo boost and I'm golden (without having to go to the front panel!)
Your video also has me thinking I may get the chicken head knobs... I like the round gold ones... shiny and sparkly, but on a darker stage I can't see my settings for crap...
Anyway, congrats on a great amp, you'll find as you use it there are all kinds of wonderful tones in the Street Rod!

That sounded killer!! Such a versatile amp. So many people think that it’s only for 80’s rock or just for “metal”....it does so many things well. I love the red tolex too!!

Really love it and recording today, Splawn only, to see how far I can stretch it. Yes, good ear, that's a 99 MIM standard that was part of the acquisition... But the Zion s about to come out for 2nd track:) Interesting point, so far my singles love the street rod, but humbuckers and mid gain gtrs are mushy... Scott has suggested eq in loop, but I'm way happy with my strats and tele... Yes, chicken heads are perfect! Followings more background on the recording... Rather sloppy recording, but I think it makes the case for the street rod for blues and rock. 1. Direct into an AT 3035 at 2 feet, so it's a bit more crunched and compressed than it sounds in the room 2. Foot switching from clean channel to overdrive gear 2 and then overdrive gear 3 3. Overdrive 2 always on 4. Stock 99 MIM strat in 2nd and 5th positions except 'Limelight' in position 1

Thanks GtrJr, I love the way it records and can't wait to try live... Loop vol really makes this puppy versital... And yes, red was a great change of pace! My other amps are more traditional in sound and looks.

I find that my humbucker guitars sound very crisp and tight?

Also, what is your loop attenuation set to? I'm assuming you're using it since at that volume level you'd be leveling small houses! If it's really low it can mush things up a bit, the amp really shines when you can have it at least halfway up from what I've found. Still sounds really good (especially for an all tube amp) at lower levels though.

Yeah, loop vol is pretty low, around 9 oclock- There is more of a power tube thing when I open it up, but I've been running it low most of the time and the strats love it-

And I set my front panel master volume around 10:00-ish....again, I’ll adjust that as needed as well. But as cvogue said, the amp really shines when it’s pushing some volume. I bought a plexiglass shield from GC not too long ago. This way I can get the volume up at a gig without the soundman yelling at me!! I usually run a little bit of my guitar in the monitor so I can keep the stage volume at a reasonable level.
