Well not quite! OK, was using the MXR 5150 pedal for the Van Halen sound (duh!) on the clean channel of my Blackstar and now my Street Rod. Tried "Panama" at band practice today without it on gear 3 OD 1, sounded quite a bit better. More warmth and smoother. Harmonics came out nicer on the 4th fret for that one part just before the "Pan-a-ma!" vocal. I know Splawns are known for being able to achieve a nice "brown" sound, so I'm finally taking advantage of that! Also do "You Really Got Me" so I'll try that on gear 3 too. I'll keep the 5150 pedal though, also use it on "Vertigo" and "My Own Worst Enemy", really fits the bill there.

Maybe try to set it up as a boost? Lower the gain way down so on you're clean channel it will act as a "bluesy" type OD and when you kick on you're gain channel it will boost it into the stratosphere...lol
