The one on the right is closer to the ohm selector knob. That's the one i found was making my speakers break up more the other night. I am out of town right now but when i get home on Saturday, i will try again. Maybe i was over tired and my ears were playing tricks on me.....

I just played for couple hours and yeah the speakers are breaking up less plugged in on the left jack. Strange...

Hmmm....I'll spend a little more time checking it out. I did notice that I have been plugging into the jack further away from the impedance selector.

yeah that is the one i am in now which has less breakup.

Just played for a little while and experimented more with the output. I'm not really hearing any significant difference in my jacks...

I am in new option and have b+ voltage drop. I will try the other jack again and compare again.

Does you're other QR behave the same?

Ok so i compared again last night and i still notice the difference but it didn't seem as apparent as the other day but there is definitely slightly more breakup with the jack closest to the ohm dial. (right)

Other QR doesn't do that. But that QR is hooked up to Creambacks in 2 x 12. The other QR is using the EVH 4 x 12 greenbacks.

I checked it on the clean channel and varied the gain settings but yeah, no noticeable difference to my ear.

Try it in new setting and drop b+ please. Curious to see if i have a "special" QR lol.

And the only thing you are changing is the left vs right speaker insert jack? What happens if you switch amps on the speaker cabinets? Are you 100% certain that the EVH 4x12 cab has 25w Greenbacks? Are you 100% sure you know the impedance of that cab? All 4 power tubes are working and in full power mode? When you guys say 'left' and 'right' are you staring straight at it from behind or over the top upside down? Just trying to figure out what is different if everything else is equal. Sorry if I missed For example, if you found out that maybe 2 of the Greenbacks were not connected or maybe 5 watt fakes or something but that wouldn't really explain anything. If it was pretty drastic, I would consider that maybe one of the speaker jacks on the amp is borked and making the amp think there is something there and therefore wanting to drop you impedence in half - but impedance is factored on the actual load itself and not a faulty jack shouldn't do that.

on my way to work but quickly....i know my 4 x 12 is 16ohm for sure as i measured it years ago when i got it. The speakers in it are legit EVH G12 EVH's.
